Who We Are

This initiative is intended to lead to improvements in home-to-school relationships, student well-being, and academic achievement.

The Louisiana Statewide Family Engagement Center (SFEC) helps schools and districts build strong partnerships with families and communities. We provide training and support to state and local education agencies, as well as community organizations, to strengthen family engagement policies and practices. Our goal is to improve home-school relationships, support student development, and boost academic success by working together with families, educators, and community partners.

Our Program

Advancing Meaningful Family-School Engagement
The Louisiana Statewide Family Engagement Center (LA-SFEC), led by The Center for Literacy & Learning, works alongside local community partners to develop and implement a systemic, family-engaged infrastructure that improves student outcomes, empowers and supports families to implement at-home learning strategies and increases the capacity of local education agencies and schools to implement high-quality family engagement plans that are responsive to the diverse needs of learners in the state. The LA-SFEC’s goal is to provide a toolkit of evidence-based family engagement supports to increase students’ overall learning success.
